Well, It's Been a While

I have endless amounts of amazing wedding pictures to share with the world.  My plan is to upload them in small doses, so I'll just start with a sneak peek of a few of my favorites.  All of the pictures are thanks to the amazing Jen and Jody Photography and are at our venue, Novelty Hill-Januik Winery in Woodinville, Washington.

Wedding Shoes!

Finding the perfect wedding shoes turned out to be a little more difficult than expected.  They needed to be between 3-3/12 inches, dramatic, and colorful.  Unfortunately, most shoes that fall into this category look like they should be twirling around a pole.  Luckily I found the cutest, most comfortable, stylish shoes that will be perfect for the big day :)

Invitations

So, after a long battle of finding the PERFECT invitations, I decided to make my own.  I combined a few ideas from other invitations that I liked and created the invitation I had been searching for.  This invitation also helped us decide on our final color choice which will now be....red and aqua!

We had these printed on heavy cardstock at Costco Business Center and they look fantastic (and costed next to nothing).  Our pocket folds, envelopes, ribbon and liners came from Paper Source.  The address labels I also made myself and had them printed on adhesive paper to stick on myself.

When I got quotes from paper stores, they ranged from $450-$700 for only 70 invitations!  I made these for about $250, a huge savings AND I didn't have to compromise.

Wedding Colors

I love the combination of red and turquoise.  I am still crossing my fingers that I will be able to use this color palette at my wedding, but I'm still a little undecided.  Over the past few months I've gathered a good amount of pictures to help explain why I am dreaming of these colors together.  Most people say I'm crazy, but let's see if I can convince you...

Friday: Wedding Inspiration

What I'm currently thinking about the most is how to make add amazing personal touches to show our personalities and make the night unique.

I like the idea of having an old fashioned photo booth that prints two copies, one for the guests and one for a guestbook.  I am hesitant to go forward with it only because it feels a little trendy and I think almost EVERYONE is going to be doing them this summer.  My alternative idea to the photo booth uses a Polaroid Camera and quirky prompts on how to use it.  The set up would look something like this...
Instead of putting the names of all the guests, I'll put instructions on the tags like
"Take a picture of you and your guest."
"Take a picture of someone getting down on the dance floor."
"Take a picture of you and the cupcakes!"
"Take a picture of someone playing outdoor games."

Something else we are planning on is personalized water bottles for the outdoor ceremony.  We will buy labels, stick them on Costco water bottles, and place them in colorful buckets around the ceremony area.  It's the perfect accommodation for guests attending an outdoor ceremony in August.

Organization

My system for organization keeps me grounded.  I go crazy when my life is cluttered, so I usually stay on top of the organization in my life.

I keep a planner that I write EVERYTHING in.  Without it, I would be lost.  Barnes and Noble has the cutest planners that are fun to write in and have thick enough paper to allow for colored pens.    There is also a folder compartment in the back to stick small papers, sticky notes, things like that in.

In my closet, I organize all my craft supplies into plastic organizing drawers.  On top of that, I have a few rows of shelving for things like my Cricut, beading supplies, and pens.  I couldn't include a picture of my closet because I am in the process of moving but this closet example from the Container Store is very similar.  I love putting up wallpaper, posters, or even wrapping paper on the back wall of the closet to keep in bright and fun.

Favorites

Every week I will add a new favorite picture, link, product, or recipe that I have stumbled upon.

Week of January 15-21:
On an episode of Four Weddings on TLC I saw the perfect idea for ceremony decorations at my upcoming wedding.  I didn't want anything too over the top and this simple decoration is not only affordable, but creative and whimsical.  It ties in amazingly well to the large white ball lanterns we will have hanging from our reception room.  I could go on forever about how excited I am about this touch!

About Me

I am excitingly close to graduating college and becoming an elementary teacher.  A few months ago I got engaged to the most amazing guy.  My life is filled with student teaching, wedding planning, eating healthy, crafting with my mom, and trying to save money for our upcoming endeavors!

We are starting a whole new adventure in the suburbs of Seattle.  Luckily,  I was able to convince by future hubby to uplift his roots in Denver and start a new job to be out here with me :)

I love finding ways to personalize my upcoming wedding without spending a fortune.  In the next few months I will be moving into an apartment with my fiance, so my mind is swirling with ways to decorate.

I am incredibly blessed to have found the guy of my dreams, an amazing family, a great group of friends, and the best future in laws I could have ever asked for.

Home Office

I have been on the search for a home office/crafting room that was the perfect setting to get work done.  The aqua blue is so relaxing and the damask patterns add a fun element to the room.  The white desk with mirrored accents are quirky without being distracting.
