Foil Covered Letters

There are so many creative ways to decorate wooden letters. Inspired by expensive metal letters, I decided to try out my own take on it.  By crumpling up foil and mod podging it onto the letters in a layered fashion, I achieved a similar look!

Fall Boots on a Budget

This pinterest post inspired a look that is great for fall and can easily be bundled up for winter with a scarf and jacket.
Spending a little more on a pair of boots will help make the outfit feel polished.  It also gives you room to spend a little less on the rest of the outfit because the focus is on the boots!
These Madden Girl boots from DSW are amazing.  The leather will last forever and they are so comfortable.  Also, they are only $70 which is a great price for an over the knee style boot.

Black Lace Dress

I found this look on pinterest and immediately thought of the holidays.  It can be worn with a pair of heels for new years eve or holiday parties.  For a more conservative look, all you need is some tights and it's ready for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Here are some budget friendly options that look extremely similar.

To transfer this look, throw on a pair of tights like these and pair it with boots or wedges.

Apartment Bathroom Style

When renting, it's hard to spruce up places like the bathroom.  Without the opportunity to paint or change tiles or flooring it's hard to put your personality into it. However, there are some little changes that can come with you when it's time to move.

A unique way to add personality to the shower is to use two curtains.

Instead of limiting yourself to only shower curtains try looking for window curtains.  They work just the same as long as you have a waterproof liner behind it!  Here are some cute options to try.

Choose a bright patterned rug to accent the shower.  Here are some affordable options.

Finally, here is my polyvore that inspired this post.

Friday: Wedding Inspiration

Since my life and pinterest boards are swarmed with wedding inspiration, I'm only going to devote one day here to my wedding plans.  We are hoping for Labor Day in 2012 but might go with another fall date if it's taken.  The theme at the moment is rustic and contemporary with colors of lavender and green.  Our venue will be in an open loft space with exposed beams, brick, and polished concrete.  I will be creating a ton of diy projects to help cut on costs.  Here are a few pictures that have inspired me the most!

How great is this arch? With some help from my dad, I'm hoping to create this myself.  Birch branches, moss pomanders, and lavender pomanders will be used to create the structure.  Four square planters will hold everything in place and a draping of white tulle will finish the look!

S'mores bar! This is one of the elements that I am most excited about.  We will include quirky s'more ingredients into the bar, like flavored marshmallows.

These centerpieces are so cute and ridiculously easy to make.  They will be placed around the venue in places like the guest book table.

I LOVE the look of chandeliers against wood in a rustic venue.  Hopefully this will fit into the budget as one of our splurge items for the wedding.

Fair Isle Snow

Winter is the best time of the year to dress stylish but feel like you're wearing pajamas.  Dressing for winter is a no-brainer.  Throw on boots, leggings, and a long shirt and you're good to go!  I found these fair isle tights and loved their unique look.
The rest of the outfit is pulled together with an oversize sweater, scarf, and boots for $120.

Look for Less: Yellow Living Room

I am loving the color trend of yellow and grey.  I created a Polyvore space a few months ago, wishing I had an unlimited budget to redecorate my own living room.  Now that it's finally time for me to redecorate I created a look for less that I can actually afford.

I kept most of the accessories the same but switched out the major pieces for similar less expensive options.  Majority of the saved money came from the Ikea couch and non-designer rug.

Where Can I Work in a Tight Space??

When you live in a compact space it's hard to designate a space for working.  Most desks eat up way too much room for a full size desk and chair.  The solution is a hidden desk that looks like a side table.  It sounds like a great solution....however most of them, including this beautiful piece from Crate and Barrel, are about $1000.

This is a great corner or side wall ensemble to fit your office needs.
